Camembert: The Famous Cheese Village!

Probably, one of the most interesting and popular places in France is the lovely village of Camembert. Located in Normandy and home of the world famous Camembert cheese, the village offers its visitors the opportunity to taste one of the most exquisite and fine cheeses in the world as well as to know a little bit more about the history of this cheese and its inventor, Marie Harel. The legend says that it was a priest that apparently sought refuge with Harel that gave her the secret to manufacture the cheese during the French Revolution. After that, the delicious cheese became so popular that it was even named by Napoleon III as Camembert honoring the origin place.

If you have the opportunity to travel to France and visit the charming Normandy region, you should visit Camembert. You will love the Camembert Museum as well as the many features that the village has to offer. In addition, you can visit the national parks and the surroundings areas where you will find many activities to do. Certainly, you will love to enjoy there a good Camembert cheese accompanied by a fine French wine. Also, remember to say cheese at the time of taking a photo as souvenir!
