Atelier Cezanne: The Artist of Aix, Provence

Atelier Cezanne was an artist who was born on 28 Rue de l’Opera in Aix en Provence on February 22nd, 1839. He was a son of Louis Auguste Cezanne and he was baptized in the church La Madeleine. In the year 1844, he started school in Rue des Epineaux where he studied during six years. After finishing the school he went to Paris in 1862 to expose his first creations in the Salon des Refuses; he also worked in the Swiss Academy where he reproduced paints of Pissaro, Guillaumin, Oller and Guillemet.

He did not get the expected success on the Salon des Refuses; due to it he left Paris and stayed in a place called Estanque near of Marseille. In the year 1865, he went back to Aix (after his fail in the Salon). Cezanne died in 1906 and in the year 1907 the Salon d’Automme dedicated a space for him, exposing 56 of his paints.

When Cezanne was alive, he built the studio where he made all his creations, which are exposed in several museums in France while others are yet in the studio. The studio is located in the 9 Avenue Paul Cezanne, 13090 Aix en Provence. If you go to France and you have the chance, visit the studio of Paul Cezanne and know the creations of one of the most famous artists of France.
