Le Goutatou Food Festival in Arbois, June 10-11, 2006
The weekend of June 10-11, 2006 in Arbois, the capital of the Jura wine region is when the 2nd annual festival of Franche-Comté food – Goutatou – will be held. The festival will include tastings of locally produced products, as well as events for visitors of all ages on the topic of food.
Franche-Comté is a region of varied gastronomic tastes and experiences. Everything that could possibly tickle and tantalize the tastebuds can be found here -- charcuteries, cheeses, salts, wines, spirits, and sweets.
This event is intended for everyone – there are events for children called "I Taste" and "I Make"; as well as “Secrets of the Chefs” “Grannies’ Secrets" and several kitchen demonstrations. One of the highlights will be an event entitled “The Laws of Chocolate”, which allows a municipal court to answer the questions “Is there such a thing as true or false chocolate? The lawsuit will be broadcast on a giant screen. Finally, at the Banquet d’Auroch held on Saturday night, the first ever roasted buffalo dinner will be held, accompanied by gourmet, locally-made sauces.
