Trappes
France, officially the French Republic, is a country whose metropolitan territory is located in Western Europe and comprises various overseas islands and territories which are located in other regions. Trappes is a community in the western suburbs of Paris, France. It is situated 26.7 kilometers from the center of Paris, in the new town of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. Trappes is served by Trappes station on the Transilien La Defense and Transilien Paris Montparnasse suburban rail lines. The population as per the October 2003 census was 28,985, while that as per the March 8th, 1999 census was 28,812. The density in 2003 was 2,152 per square kilometer with the land area as 13.47 square kilometers. Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines is a community in the French department of Yvelines. It is one of the original 5 new towns of Paris and was named after the Saint Quentin Pond, which was selected to become the town's centre. The town was built from a Greenfield site starting in the 1960's. A city known for its historic myths and traditions, scenic beauty, luxurious hotels and cottages, Trappes is one of the favorite holiday destinations for most of the vacation lovers.
