Torcy
France, officially the French Republic, is a country whose metropolitan territory is located in Western Europe and comprises various overseas islands and territories which are located in other regions. It is located 21.8 kilometers from the center of Paris. Torcy is a sous-prefecture of the Seine-et-Marne department, being the seat of the Arrondissement of Torcy. The commune of Torcy is part of the sector of Val Maubuee, one of the four sectors of the new town of Marne-la-Vallee. The total area is of 6.00 square kilometers and its population is 22,418 with density 3,736 per square kilometers. Seine-et-Marne is a French departement, named after the Seine and Marne rivers, and located in the Ile-de-France region. The department was created on March 4, 1790 during the French Revolution in application of the law of December 22, 1789 to separate from the Ile de France department. Torcy is also known as the town of best geographical environment and has traced its origins back to prehistoric times.
