Merignac

Merignac is a municipality in the department of Gironde and the Aquitaine region of France. It is the largest suburb of the city of Bordeaux, and is adjacent to it on the west. Thus, it is a member of the metropolitan Urban Community of Bordeaux. In the 1999 census, Merignac had a population of sixty one thousand nine hundred and ninety two.
Gironde is a departement in the southwest of France named after the Gironde Estuary. Aeroport de Bordeaux is an airport servicing the French city of Bordeaux. It is located in the town of Merignac within the Gironde departement, 6 miles northeast of Bordeaux. In 2004, the airport served twenty nine lacs twenty eight thousand eight hundred and seventy three travellers. It is ranked 6th in France as a destination for passengers.
