Maisons-Laffitte is a community in the northwestern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located 18.2 kilometers from the center of Paris. Maisons-Laffitte is well-known for the Chateau de Maisons-Laffitte, built by architect Francois Mansart in the 17th century. Maisons-Laffitte is known for its horse racing track, the Hippodrome de Maisons-Laffitte as well. In 1999, the population of the city was 21,856 and an area of 6.75 square kilometers.
 
Initially called Maisons-sur-Seine the community was officially renamed Maisons-Laffitte in 1882 in honor of banker Jacques Laffitte who financed the housing developments on the estate of the Chateau de Maisons-Laffitte. Maisons-Laffitte is served by Maisons-Laffitte station on Paris RER, Reseau Express Regional line A and on the Transilien Paris – Saint-Lazare suburban rail line.
