Le Gosier is the third-largest commune in the French overseas department of Guadeloupe. It is situated on the south side of the island of Grande-Terre and is part of the metropolitan area of Pointe-a-Pitre, the largest conurbation in Guadeloupe. In the 1999 census, it had a population of 25,360 inhabitants. Guadeloupe is an archipelago located in the eastern Caribbean Sea at 16 degree north and 61 degree west with a total area of 1,780 square kilometers.
