Chambery
France, officially the French Republic, is a country whose metropolitan territory is located in Western Europe and comprises various overseas islands and territories which are located in other regions. Metropolitan France extends from the Mediterranean Sea to the English Channel and the North Sea and from the Rhine to the Atlantic Ocean. At 674,843 square kilometres, France is the world's 40th-largest country after Myanmar. France is a member of The European Union and Paris is the capital of this nation. The sole official language of France is French. Since prehistoric times, France has been a crossroads of trade, migrations, and invasions. Chambery is a community in Savoie, France. It has been the historical capital of Savoy since the 13th century, when Amadeus V of Savoy made it his seat. The city was founded at crossroads of antique routes among Burgundy, Switzerland and Italy, and is still a major railroad hub. It lies at the heart of a municipal agglomeration of more than 100,000 inhabitants, in a valley between the Bauges and the Chartreuse, extending towards the vineyard slopes of the Combe de Savoie to the south and almost to the shores of the Lake of Bourget, the biggest natural lake in France. The area of the city is 20.99 square kilometers. Chambery is also a bishopric that does not specifically conform to the modern arrondissement. It comprises some communes in the arrondissement of Annecy and in the arrondissement of Albertville. Chambery is the kind of town you daydream about. It is a city with endless recreational opportunities, rich history, and modern day luxuries.
