Bergerac
France, officially the French Republic, is a country whose metropolitan territory is located in Western Europe and comprises various overseas islands and territories which are located in other regions. Bergerac is a market town and a sous-préfecture of the Dordogne departement in France. In 1999 census, Bergerac had a population 26,053. The region is often called the Gateway to the Perigord. The region is primarily known for wine and tobacco. The region has 12 recognized wine AOCs, Appellations d'Origine Controlee are Bergerac, Bergerac, Rose, Bergerac Sec, Cotes-de-Bergerac, Cotes-de-Bergerac Blanc, Cotes de Montravel, Montravel, Haut-Montravel. The town also attracts tourism, and features a museum of tobacco., at which no smoking is allowed. Bergerac is served by an airport, which has internal flights, and routes to UK airports including Southampton, Nottingham East Midlands, Exeter, Liverpool, Birmingham and London Stansted Airport. It is said the place of best geographical environment and can trace its origins back to prehistoric times. It enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers.
