Baie-Mahault
France, officially the French Republic, is a country whose metropolitan territory is located in Western Europe and comprises various overseas islands and territories which are located in other regions. Baie-Mahault is the fourth largest commune in the French overseas departement of Guadeloupe. It is located at the east side of the island of Basse-Terre, and is part of the metropolitan area of Pointe-a-Pitre, the largest conurbation in Guadeloupe. In the 1999 census, Baie-Mahault had a population of 23,389. Baie-Mahault is also known as the town of best geographical environment and has traced its origins back to prehistoric times.
